Lori DeZarn, LPC
Struggle, challenge and change are universal conditions. My approach to therapy provides a safe, compassionate space for clients to explore their challenges with curiosity and hope. Whether that means needing a quiet place to unpack, explore, or challenge your thoughts and feelings, a place to understand yourself better, or a place to learn skills to achieve the life you want, my goal is to provide space to help you attain these outcomes. Perhaps you’ll discover what’s getting in the way of change; and gain insights into patterns that may no longer be serving you.
My areas of interest and experience include young adult development/launching, women’s issues, aging, parenting, grief, adult ADHD, depression and anxiety-related issues. I work with children at least 12 years of age and adults of all ages and genders.
My approach includes elements of interpersonal humanistic psychology, family systems approach, attachment theory, mindfulness-based practices and increasingly includes neuroscience as more is understood about the mind-body connection.
It is a privilege for me to build relationships with my clients, and to support and honor their growth as they make meaningful changes. I strive to be a compassionate presence; a respite, someone to walk beside you; possibly offer new insights. I believe strongly in the goodness of people, in resilience and new possibilities.
